Ceramics Exhibition
Athanassios Papavgeris
The thread of the life and work of a 20th-century ceramist.
The Center for the Study of Modern Ceramics presents—for the first time—to the public the life and work of the ceramist, Athanasios Papavgeris. On the occasion of his work, aspects of post-war artistic Greek ceramics are simultaneously presented.
As part of the exhibition, two contemporary painters, Niki Eleftheriadi and Tasos Mantzavinos, worked with tools and materials found in Papavgeris’s workshop and completed his unfinished ceramics in their own style, continuing the thread of his work.
