Christine Willis – 50 Years a Potter

Solo exhibition by ceramist Christine Lansdale Willis. (May 2024)

The Center for the Study of Modern Ceramics is organizing a solo exhibition of the distinguished and award-winning ceramist Christine Lansdale Willis.

The exhibition, titled “50 YEARS A POTTER,” will be hosted from May 17 to May 25 at the Museum (Melidoni 4, Thisio).

Christine Lansdale Willis is a dynamic, restless, and creative spirit who loves life and its challenges. As she says, clay remains the material through which she finds herself, and her work is inspired by her immediate surroundings: the sea, olive trees, and natural textures.

“Pottery is not a talent that you either have or don’t have. We are all alive, we all breathe, and we all have unique values. We mutually shape both the clay and ourselves. Ceramics are not just objects. They are offerings in a ceremony,” she emphasizes.

The opening of the solo exhibition will take place on Friday, May 17 (20:00 – 22:00).

The exhibition is part of the celebrations for International Museum Day 2024.
