“Travelling Ceramics” – New Accessibility Toolkit for People with Disabilities

Traveling through the world of pottery
Our new accessibility toolkit

The Centre for the Study of Modern Pottery – G. Psaropoulos Family Foundation has developed a mobile museum toolkit designed to introduce individuals with intellectual, motor, and hearing disabilities to the art of pottery, from its traditional roots to its contemporary expressions.

The Centre for the Study of Modern Ceramics – G. Psaropoulos Foundation has developed an Accessibility Toolkit focused on contemporary ceramics, aiming to introduce individuals with intellectual, mobility, and hearing disabilities to the art of ceramics—from traditional forms to its modern expressions.

The primary aim of the toolkit is to engage Special Education Facilities, Day Centers, and Special Schools both within and beyond Attica, with a particular focus on reaching more remote areas. This approach offers an opportunity to explore modern pottery through both educational and therapeutic methods. Individuals with disabilities can engage with contemporary forms of pottery and gain firsthand experience of this remarkable art form and its evolution over time. Housed in a small suitcase, the museum toolkit contains specially designed, accessible learning materials and can be loaned free of charge for up to two weeks.

For more information about the museum toolkit’s contents and borrowing options, please call us at 2103318491 or email us at kmnk@otenet.gr.
